True to its tagline “excellence connects”, Monica Rintersbacher, managing director at Leitbetriebe Austria (Eng.: Leading Companies Austria), and Michael Kriegler, managing director at DOMI sense, welcomed a select group of partners from the world of business to “The Menu of the Senses” – hosted by celebrity chef Juan Amador in his restaurant in Döbling.
It was the second time the 3 Michelin star chef had cooked up a storm comprising 5 courses, where each dish was paired with a unique fragrance custom-created by DOMI sense.
The Tomato Leaves fragrance, for example, skilfully highlighted the unique flavourings of Juan Amador's tilapia, served with mussels, tomatoes and a Bourride sauce. The signature dish of the night, the Mieral pigeon, was a culinary highlight, accompanied by a Mango Coriander aroma which filled the air with an incredible sweetness.
The celebrities and close partners of Leitbetriebe Austria were in awe of the innovative culinary experience and clearly enjoyed the unforgettable evening with DOMI sense MD Michael Kriegler and his co-MD and wife Lisa Kriegler.
Toni Faber, cathedral priest of St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna , was delighted and amazed: “Combining fragrances with such exceptional cooking was completely new to me, and impressed me even more.” “A simply heavenly evening. I’m sure the angels would have joined us if they could!” joked the priest.
Uschi Simacek, CEO at SIMACEK Holding, was in awe: “Fragrances are an integral part of our lives that I’ve only really been aware of in a passive, everyday sense, until now. Tonight, I got to experience this on a whole new level, elevated by combining exceptional cuisine and innovative aromas. Unforgettable!”
“I was deeply impressed by just how well the aromatic concept had been tailored to the restaurant and the menu. You come in, and are welcomed by a pleasant freshness, that then seamlessly transitions into the culinary experience. Not a single fragrance was in itself overpowering or overpowered the dish, but came into its own together with the individual course”, said Denise Gugerell, Brand Manager at Lamborghini Frankfurt.
Eugen Lamprecht, on the executive board at Schlumberger:“Pleasant smells and aromas are also important in our line of work, but are normally only a pleasant side effect of the flavour of the dish or beverage. Tonight, however, they shared the spotlight.”
Juan Amador was pleased with how the evening went: “It’s lovely to watch the guests’ eyes light up. Whether it be because they’re noticing the fragrance or they’re tasting the dish. That’s when you know that you’ve given them an unforgettable experience that they’ll look back on with a smile!”
Michael Kriegler and his colleague from the executive board at Gero Stapelfeldt both agreed: “Fragrances move us, trigger emotions and Juan’s magical menu brought this group of people together and brought them joy! This is how we create memorable experiences and emotions. This is scent marketing at its best – not just in a culinary sense but also for business and industry settings, POS and at events!”
Monica Rintersbacher:“An evening that brought the Leitbetriebe Austria vision “excellence connects” to life in a very special way: a dinner that brought together so many wonderful people to share an entire culinary experience that connected the senses in a unique way – the smells and tastes were excellent and extraordinary.”
